Cheap Flights to Vancouver
You may never have set foot in Vancouver but you’ll find it strangely familiar once you arrive on the scene, that is if you’ve watched films and television programs in the past few decades. Nicknamed “Hollywood of the North” for being a very popular filming location, Vancouver has a big city feel set in beautiful surroundings. It‘s a city full of wonderful contradictions and through powerful skyscrapers of glass and steel, you’ll see the beautiful North Shore Mountains, combining the luxuries of a big metropolis with the gorgeous goodness of rural Canada.
City of Neighbourhoods
Vancouver is Canada’s most diverse city, with over 50% of its inhabitants not speaking English as their first language. This is most prominently reflected in the city’s many neighbourhoods, each with their own charm and character, offering cultural oddities and world cuisine. And while they’re all unique in their own right there’s just no town quite like Vancouver’s Chinatown. Nearly 30% of the city’s residents are of Chinese heritage which is obvious in their vibrant Chinatown. Be sure to check out the LGBT community in Davie Village; the historical charm of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood in Gastown or the tranquil waterfront of Coal Harbour to name just a few of our favourite Vancouver hangouts. Just bring your charm-game and your best manners because these Canadians are super friendly!
The Great Outdoors
If it’s the simple outdoors you seek, look no further than Vancouver’s Stanley Park, a huge 405-hectare area surrounded almost entirely by water. Jam-packed with forest trails, beaches, wildlife and adventures, this giant of a park is in a league of its own. Speaking of beaches, Vancouver has no less than 11 of them where you’ll find any type of imaginable water sport, from windsurfing to stand up paddleboarding. If you’re game for something a little more chilling be sure to visit some of the world-class ski resorts in the vicinity. Whistler and Blackcomb are international celebs in the world of skiable mountains, where you’ll find pistes to suit every kind of downhill ability. Whatever your game may be, Vancouver will deliver. We fly to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), which is about 7.5 miles from Downtown Vancouver.
